Extreme Sandbox selects The Station in Sachse for new Texas location
Top-Rated Heavy-Equipment Adventure Company Will Open in September
SACHSE, TEXAS (July 21, 2020) — PMB Capital Investments, a privately-held real estate investment and development company based in Dallas, Texas, secured a lease with Extreme Sandbox, a heavy-equipment adventure company, for The Station in Sachse. The open-air entertainment concept is perfect for individuals looking to fulfill a “bucket list” adventure as well as corporate groups seeking a fun, team-building activity.
Extreme Sandbox, based in Hastings, Minnesota, is set to call The Station home, making the entertainment district the exclusive Texas site for the attraction. The top-rated, heavy-equipment adventure company finalized an agreement with PMB Capital Investments and the City of Sachse to move their first Texas location from Pottsboro to Sachse. This addition caps off the mixed-use district’s first phase of construction.
“After a successful appearance on “Shark Tank” in 2016, we are excited to call The Station our new Texas home,” said Extreme Sandbox CEO and founder Randy Stenger. “The City of Sachse is an incredible community and the perfect hub for new businesses to grow and thrive. We look forward to bringing this exciting outdoor activity to the district and expect to benefit from the strong corporate presence in Dallas and surrounding areas. Where else can you play with a 26-ton excavator for fun?”
The adventure company presents guests with the unique opportunity to operate construction equipment — including Komatsu excavators, bulldozers and wheel loaders — under the supervision of highly-trained expert instructors. Additionally, the company offers heavy-equipment training for those pursuing a career in the construction trades. Extreme Sandbox will open in September 2020, occupying just over ten acres within The Station.
“We are thrilled to welcome Extreme Sandbox to The Station as we conclude the district’s first stage of construction,” said PMB Capital Investments Partner Taylor Baird. “Designing a dynamic, family-focused mixed-use community is at the heart of our vision for The Station, and Extreme Sandbox perfectly captures that spirit, bringing an innovative experiential element to the district.”
In addition to signing The Station’s first commercial lease, Davis Development has commenced construction on The Station’s first phase of urban living units and is set to begin leasing The Linz at The Station in mid-2021. Home builders Ashton Woods Homes and K. Hovnanian Homes will debut their initial residential offerings at The Villas at The Station this fall. At completion, the community will feature 225 detached single-family homes and townhomes. Now actively marketing and leasing, The Station also presents available restaurant and retail spaces as well as build-to-suit office opportunities.
Spanning 134 acres, The Station is an activated and community-driven district developed through a
collaboration between PMB Capital Investments and the City of Sachse. Anchored by Heritage Park, The
Station will offer more than 1,000 new residences — including single-family homes, townhomes and
multifamily offerings — as well as 400,000 square feet of commercial, office, restaurant and retail space
and 36 acres of public parks and open space.
